In conjunction with Keep America Beautiful & Earth Day, we will be participating in the Annual Get Down Get Dirty community clean up event on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

This is a family friendly event and will be held at the Kansas History Museum to help clean the general property. However, we are adding in the acknowledgement that our volunteers LOVE to get dirty! When you click the volunteer link, you’ll notice the “Tough Mudder” volunteer slots. Those are for the folks ready to get down into wet creek beds to pull up tired, mattresses, shopping carts and basketball goals. And yes.. We’ve unearthed all those things.

Registrations/Waivers/T-shirts/Grouping is 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Group Safety/Informational Meeting with specific instructions at 9:45 a.m. Group Picture at 9:55. Clean 10am to Noon. After 12 we all head to a picnic with free food and prizes at Gage Park and all trash haulers can drop their hauls at the free dumpsters parked in the Blaisdell pool parking lot.

As stated before, this is a VERY family friendly event. It’s also great for volunteer hours for National Honor SocietyGirl ScoutsBoy Scouts of America, Military Groups and more. Children are welcome – anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

We’ll have FREE t-shirts but if you have one from years previous, please wear so we can share. Doughnuts and waters provided as well as sun screen and bug spray. Dogs that can handle this sort of gig are also welcome.

But most of all? Come. Be a part of the team. Be more than you thought you could be today. Show your community you know it has value and show yourself a muddy, good time!!
